Terms of Service

Version 0.2.0-draft · Last updated July 18, 2026

Draft — subject to attorney review. Written for the ThreadzSocial product (threadzsocial.com); counsel will review before public launch. This is plain-language product guidance, not legal advice and not a claim of attorney approval.

1. Who we are & what this is

ThreadzSocial (“we,” “us”) is a social marketplace for secondhand style. You can browse closets, list items, buy and sell, and use tools (including Hub and AI features) that help you sell smarter.

These Terms explain the rules for using the site and app at threadzsocial.com and related product surfaces. By creating an account or using ThreadzSocial, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

Related: Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and (for API users) API Terms.

2. Eligibility & your account

You need to be old enough to form a binding contract in your place of residence (generally 18+ in the U.S.). One person, one account — keep your login details safe. You’re responsible for activity under your account.

Give us accurate info when you sign up and keep your profile reasonably up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or that harm the community.

3. Our role (marketplace, not the seller)

Most of the time, ThreadzSocial is a platform that connects buyers and sellers. We are not the seller of items listed by members (unless we clearly say otherwise for a specific product). Contracts of sale are between the buyer and the seller. We may facilitate payments, shipping tools, and dispute help — that doesn’t make us the merchant of every listing.

4. Your responsibilities

  • List items you own (or are authorized to sell) with honest photos, descriptions, size, condition, and price.
  • Follow the law and our Community Guidelines — no counterfeits, stolen goods, prohibited items, or fraud.
  • Ship sold items on time when you’re the seller; pay when you buy; communicate respectfully.
  • Don’t harass others, spam, scrape the service, or try to break security or payment systems.

5. Hub, cross-listing & other marketplaces

ThreadzSocial may offer Hub features that let you connect inventory, orders, shipping, or listings with other marketplaces or shops (for example eBay, Etsy, Depop, Mercari, or similar services) when those connections are available.

You remain solely responsible for complying with every third-party marketplace’s terms, policies, fees, prohibited-item rules, and authenticity or seller programs. Connecting an account or managing a listing from ThreadzSocial does not mean we override, replace, or guarantee compliance with those rules. If a connected platform suspends you, fines you, or removes content, that dispute is between you and that platform.

You must only connect accounts you own or are authorized to manage, using consented OAuth or other official flows we support. Don’t use Hub or our API to scrape, circumvent, or violate another service’s access rules. You are responsible for the accuracy of data you sync and for resolving inventory conflicts (e.g. double-selling the same item across channels).

6. Content you post

You keep ownership of your photos, descriptions, and other content. You give us a license to host, display, and promote that content on ThreadzSocial (and in marketing that features the community) so the product can work.

Don’t post content that infringes others’ rights. We’ll respond to valid intellectual-property complaints and may remove content or accounts that repeatedly violate rights.

7. AI features — please review

We may offer AI-assisted tools (for example listing help, pricing suggestions, image tools, moderation signals, support, or dispute assistance). AI is assistive, not a guarantee. Outputs can be wrong or incomplete. You should review and edit anything AI suggests before you publish or rely on it. You’re responsible for your final listings, messages, and decisions — including whether a listing complies with our Guidelines and any connected marketplace’s rules.

Don’t use AI features to create deceptive listings, spam, or content that breaks these Terms. Where we show confidence scores or “needs human review,” take those cues seriously.

8. Payments, fees & refunds

Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Stripe). Platform fees, shipping options, and refund rules may be shown at checkout or in seller settings. Chargebacks and payment disputes follow the payment provider’s and our support process.

Sellers are responsible for any taxes they owe on sales. We may provide tax-related reports when required by law.

9. Shipping & fulfillment

Sellers are generally responsible for packing and shipping sold items on the timelines they promise (or our default guidance). Buyers should provide accurate shipping details. Tracking and label tools, when offered, are helpers — the sale still depends on both parties acting in good faith.

10. Impact Mode & charity sales

When Impact / Donate Mode is available, a seller may route sale proceeds to a listed charity under the rules we publish for that feature. Platform fees may be reduced or waived as described in-product. Charity partners and donation processing details can change; tax treatment of donations is between you, the charity, and your advisor — we don’t give tax advice.

11. Disputes between users

If something goes wrong with a sale, use in-app messaging and our support / dispute tools first. We may suggest resolutions (including AI-assisted review of chat and photos) and, for some cases, make a final call on refunds or account action. We are a facilitator, not a court.

12. Suspension & termination

You can stop using ThreadzSocial anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or Community Guidelines, legal risk, or to protect the community. We may also change or discontinue features with reasonable notice when we can.

13. Disclaimers & limits

The service is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it reliable and safe, but we don’t promise uninterrupted uptime, perfect AI, or that every listing is authentic. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our liability is limited; we are not responsible for user-to-user conduct or third-party services (payments, shipping carriers, connected marketplaces).

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, listings, Hub connections, or misuse of the service, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-law rules — subject to change after attorney review (including any arbitration or venue clause).

15. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product grows. We’ll post the new version with an updated date (and version when useful). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes may also be called out in-app or by email when practical.

16. Contact
