Community Guidelines

Version 0.1.0-draft · Last updated July 18, 2026

Draft — subject to attorney review. Plain-language rules for ThreadzSocial members. They work with our Terms of Service; if something here conflicts with the Terms after counsel review, the Terms control.

1. Why these exist

ThreadzSocial is a social resale marketplace for secondhand style. Closets stay fun when people are honest, kind, and careful about what they put up for sale. These guidelines explain how we expect you to behave, and what is not welcome on the platform.

We may remove listings, limit features, or close accounts that break these rules or our Terms. When in doubt, ask before you list: hello@threadzsocial.com.

2. Be a good neighbor

  • Treat buyers, sellers, and staff with basic respect. No harassment, threats, hate, or slurs.
  • Keep messages about the sale. Don’t spam offers, unsolicited links, or pressure people off-platform in ways that look like a scam.
  • Don’t impersonate brands, other people, or ThreadzSocial staff.
  • Report problems with the tools we provide instead of pile-ons or public callouts meant to shame.
  • One person, one account. Don’t create sock accounts to evade blocks, fees, or enforcement.

3. Honest listings

  • Only list items you own or are clearly authorized to sell. Have them on hand (or clearly disclose pre-order/shipping reality if we ever allow that flow).
  • Use your own photos of the actual item whenever possible. If you use stock or brand imagery, say so — and never use photos of a better example to sell a worse one.
  • Describe brand, size, color, material, flaws, and smell or wear accurately. Call out stains, holes, missing parts, and repairs.
  • Price in good faith. Don’t bait with a fake price and rewrite after someone engages solely to waste their time.
  • AI-assisted titles, descriptions, or images are fine only if you review them so the final listing stays truthful.

4. Prohibited items

Fashion and lifestyle resale is the heart of ThreadzSocial. The following categories are not allowed (this list is not exhaustive — illegal or unsafe items stay banned even if not named):

Fakes, theft & IP

  • Counterfeit, replica, “inspired by,” or unauthorized branded goods (including bags, shoes, watches, jewelry, and apparel).
  • Stolen property or goods you know were obtained illegally.
  • Content or products that clearly infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.

Safety & health

  • Recalled products, or items you know are unsafe to wear or use.
  • Hazardous materials (e.g. flammable liquids, explosives, illegal chemicals).
  • Prescription drugs, controlled substances, and most drug paraphernalia.
  • Medical devices that require a prescription or professional fitting when sold outside lawful channels.
  • Used undergarments, intimate apparel, or similar items offered in a sexualized or non-hygienic way. (New-with-tags basics sold as ordinary clothing are evaluated case by case under honesty and decency standards.)

Weapons & restricted gear

  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and most weapons or weapon parts.
  • Items that primarily exist to cause serious harm (not ordinary multi-tools or fashion accessories).

People, animals & sensitive data

  • Live animals or animal remains where sale would be unlawful or cruel.
  • Government IDs, passports, financial instruments, or databases of personal information.
  • Anything that facilitates human exploitation, trafficking, or abuse.

Hate, adult, & scam-adjacent

  • Merchandise that promotes hate groups, violent extremism, or discrimination against protected classes.
  • Explicit sexual content or pornography as the product. ThreadzSocial is not an adult marketplace.
  • Gift cards, digital account credentials, or “mystery” bulk drops used mainly to run payment or phishing schemes.
  • Pure dropshipping of goods you never inspect when the listing pretends the item is in your closet.

Laws vary by place. You must also follow local, state, and federal rules for anything you ship or sell — our ban list does not replace the law.

5. Authenticity & designer goods

Selling real secondhand designer or branded pieces is welcome when the item is genuine and described fairly. If something looks off, we may ask for more photos, receipts, or serial details, use AI or human review signals, or remove the listing. Claiming authenticity when you know an item is fake is grounds for immediate action.

6. Buying & selling conduct

  • Sellers: ship what was sold, pack carefully, and communicate delays early.
  • Buyers: pay as agreed, provide a deliverable address, and open disputes in good faith with photos when something is wrong.
  • Don’t leave abusive feedback-style messages, fake claims, or chargebacks meant only to keep the item and the money.
  • Offers and counters should stay within the tools we provide when those tools are available.

7. Hub & other marketplaces

If you connect another shop or marketplace through Hub (or any future sync tools), you still must follow that marketplace’s own rules— listing policies, prohibited items, fees, authenticity programs, and account terms. ThreadzSocial does not waive or override eBay, Etsy, Depop, Mercari, or any other platform’s requirements. Breaking their rules can get you banned there even if a listing was created or managed from our product. See also our Terms of Service.

8. Enforcement

We use a mix of member reports, automated signals, and human review. Outcomes can include content removal, listing limits, payout holds, temporary suspension, or permanent bans. Serious illegal activity may be reported to authorities. We may not explain every detail of an investigation when doing so would help abusers game the system.

9. Changes

We will update these guidelines as the product and legal landscape change. The version and date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of ThreadzSocial means you accept the posted version.
