Version 0.2.0-draft · Last updated July 18, 2026
Draft — subject to attorney review. Written for the ThreadzSocial product (threadzsocial.com); counsel will review before public launch. Written in plain language so you can actually read it — not a claim of attorney approval.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect on ThreadzSocial, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It pairs with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
We build a social resale product — so some information (like your public closet and listings) is meant to be seen by other members. Other information (like payment details) is handled more carefully through trusted providers.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use ThreadzSocial, we may collect:
- Account & profile — email, display name, username, bio, photo, preferences.
- Listings & content — photos, descriptions, prices, likes, comments, messages you send on the platform.
- Transactions — order history, shipping addresses you provide, payout and fee records. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor (e.g. Stripe), not stored as full PAN on our servers.
- AI usage — prompts and outputs when you use AI-assisted features (listing help, suggestions, support), so we can run the feature and improve quality where allowed.
- Device & technical — IP address, browser or app type, approximate location derived from IP, logs for security and reliability.
- Connected services — if you link another shop or marketplace (Hub), data you authorize us to access under that connection. Other platforms may also process data under their own privacy policies when you use their services.
3. How we use data
- Provide the product: accounts, feed, listings, checkout, shipping tools, Hub sync when available.
- Match and recommend closets or items; personalize discovery.
- Moderate content and reduce fraud, spam, and abuse (including AI signals + human review).
- Process payments, payouts, refunds, and fee calculations.
- Run AI-assisted features you choose to use; improve those features.
- Analytics to understand what works and fix bugs.
- Communicate about your account, orders, and (if you opt in) product updates.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
4. AI & your content
When AI helps with listings, pricing ideas, images, moderation, or support, the text and images you provide may be sent to model providers under our agreements with them. We aim to use vendors who limit training on your private data where our plans allow.
You can usually choose how much AI assistance you want in account preferences when that control is available. You’re still responsible for reviewing AI outputs before you publish.
5. When we share data
We don’t sell your personal information as a product. We may share data with:
- Other users — what’s public on your closet, listings, and community activity.
- Service providers — hosting, database, auth, payments, email, shipping labels, AI APIs, analytics — only as needed to run ThreadzSocial.
- Connected platforms — when you explicitly connect them and authorize access (Hub or similar). Those platforms handle data under their own policies; you remain responsible for following their rules.
- Legal & safety — if required by law, or to protect rights, users, or the service.
- Business transfers — if we reorganize or transfer the project, data may transfer under continued protection commitments.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (for example California CCPA or EU/UK GDPR-style rights), you may be able to:
- Access or get a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal holds, orders, and fraud prevention)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Opt out of marketing emails (transactional mail may still go through)
Use in-app account settings when available (including download and deletion request tools), or contact us at hello@threadzsocial.com. We’ll respond within the timeframes required by applicable law once those flows are fully live.
7. Cookies & similar tech
We use essential cookies and storage for login sessions and security. If we add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies later, we’ll update this policy and provide consent choices where required.
8. Security
We use industry-standard practices (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege staff tools) to protect data. No system is perfect — if we learn of a breach that affects you, we’ll notify you as required by law.
9. Children
ThreadzSocial is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age required in your region). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll take appropriate steps.
10. International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. If we transfer data from regions with transfer rules (e.g. EU), we’ll use appropriate safeguards as required by law after counsel review.
11. Retention
We keep data as long as your account is active and as needed for orders, disputes, security, legal obligations, and legitimate business records. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data that we no longer need to keep.
12. Changes
We’ll update this policy as the product and laws evolve. The “Last updated” date and version at the top will change. Significant changes may also be announced in-app or by email when practical.
13. Contact
